Logic Pro X is one of the premiere audio processing applications and sequencers. In this class we will learn how to get started quickly using this powerful application.
For years I've been teaching Music Production in the college classroom. These classes I'm making for Udemy use the same syllabus I've used in my college classes for years, at a fraction of the cost. I believe anyone can learn Music Production - and cost shouldn't be a barrier.
In this class we will focus on the newest Logic Pro X software. Some people like to think of this as "Garage Band Pro", and it many ways it is. But there is a lot more to it than that. Logic Pro X is a full-featured program, but it isn't without it's limitations. I'll walk you though what those are, some ways you can deal with them, and how to use the program to produce and/or record your music.

What are Apple Loops?

Apple Loops are a huge library of sounds, loops, and riffs that you already have on your computer!
Beat Sync and Apple Loops

One of the great features of Apple Loops is the ability to sync to the beat with nearly no effort.
Adding a Bass Line

Now that we have a track started, let’s add a bass line using one of Logic’s synths.

Exporting

What is Exporting (or Bouncing)?

If we want to get our track out of Logic, and into SoundCloud, iTunes, Spotify, an email, or anywhere else, we need to Export it.
Export Options and Settings

There are good and bad ways to do this. Let’s make sure you do it a good way.
Normalizing

One last aspect to exporting in Logic is the ability to Normalize. You might want to do this (you probably do), but you should know what it’s doing to your track.
