Grants

The Arts Learning program provides grants of up to $10,000 for high-quality, arts education activities in any arts discipline to develop knowledge, skills, and understanding about the arts and/or learning through the arts. Projects must have clearly articulated, measurable learning objectives that will be evaluated.

This program expands and replaces the historic Composer/Sound Artist Fellowship and the Travel and Study program.

In this new Jerome Hill Artist Fellowship program, 60 early career artists (10 each in the disciplines of dance, film/new media, literature, music, theater and visual arts) will be awarded two-year Fellowships of $20,000 per year.

Fellowships will support (among other possible uses):

  • creation of new work & development of new skills
  • workspace/studio/rehearsal rental
  • travel
  • professional development
  • professional equipment purchase
  • and more

… and/or other needs directly related to artistic and career development as defined by the Fellow.

Fellows will also have an additional $10,000 each to award to organizations to deepen and strengthen their partnerships, bringing Jerome’s total investment to $50,000 per fellow for a total of $3 million.

Funding your work is a key component of making a living and a life of an artist. Springboard for the Arts is not a grantmaking organization, but our programs and resources are designed to help you connect to what you’re looking for, and plan to make the most of opportunities.

Arts Learning is a program that offers funding for projects that help lifelong learners acquire knowledge and understanding of and skills in the arts. Projects must provide participatory learning and engage learners with skilled teaching artists and high quality artistic experiences.

First time applicants are encouraged to carefully review the Program Overview and Application Instructions and then call the program officer prior to beginning an application.

The Artist Initiative grant program is designed to support and assist professional Minnesota artists at various stages in their careers by encouraging artistic development, nurturing artistic creativity, and recognizing the contributions of individual artists to the creative environment of the state of Minnesota.

Grants will be awarded for projects that will enhance or expand the applicant’s artistic skills or process, and advance the applicant’s career by helping the artist generate greater visibility with and exposure to potential audiences.

First time applicants are encouraged to carefully review the Program Overview and Application Instructions and then call the program officer prior to beginning an application.

Through a comprehensive slate of programs, the American Composers Forum provides composers at all stages of their artistic lives with valuable resources for professional and artistic development. Explore all of our current programs below. ACF encourages applicants to contact ACF program staff members to ask questions and discuss potential applications.

The American Composers Forum encourages applicants from the full range of musical styles, and is committed to supporting a diverse pool of artists whose work demonstrates strong artistic merit. Accordingly, awards for our programs will represent, as far as possible, artists and projects that are diverse in genre, gender, race, ethnicity, and geography.
